The award was presented to Mercer for its role in helping pension funds across Europe develop new and robust risk management strategies tailored to the challenges they faced throughout 2008. A panel of judges, consisting of 22 senior leaders from the European pensions industry, voted Mercer the winner.

Life & Pensions survey

Mercer has topped the polls in an annual survey by Life & Pensions magazine. It was ranked number one in four different categories: "overall consultants", "investment consulting – manager selection", "administration and technology" and "strategic advice". Mercer was also ranked second in all other areas of consulting -"longevity risk management", "ALM/LDI advice" and "pensions actuarial/valuation/accounting". Competition was very close in a number of these categories, with Mercer just a percentage point below the number one ranked company.

Black Achievers in Industry Award

Jennifer Pickett Frasier, a human resources partner for Mercer's mergers and acquisitions group and Mercer's US diversity leader, was recently honored as part of the Harlem YMCA's 39th National Salute to Black Achievers in Industry (BAI). Michael Blackshear, senior vice president and south zone compliance officer at Marsh, was also honored. Both were selected by a cross-MMC panel from a national pool of candidates nominated by the MMC operating companies.
